Helping feed my photo addiction! Epson Expression Photo XP-960 Review

Epson Expression Photo XP-960 Review

Photos mean everything to me, I am always snapping away, a few of the zillions I’m sharing in this post! I know for a fact that I drive my husband potty but I hope that one day he appreciates all my efforts to capture the moments, and the minutes, and possibly the seconds too! 😀

The one thing that I have always struggled with is printing them out, either having to go into town and pay a fortune or order online and wait for delivery. Our printer is at least ten years old, we’d never managed to get the wifi printing working properly and recently it had really given up the ghost, in spectacular fashion.

Luckily Epson stepped in and offered to send me their Epson Expression Photo XP-960 to review, and I jumped at the chance! I had seen previous blog reviews of the Epson printers and they looked and sounded fantastic.

This is a photo specific printer, and prints up to A3. It also handles normal printing jobs with ease. The first thing I noticed was that the printer has more ink colours then my old one. This means that it can really get colour detail into the photos.

The printer is touch screen, it raises up when you turn it on, and the screen is really responsive, there is nothing worse then an unresponsive touch screen that you need to keep jabbing at! The paper tray is also automated which is a nice extra.

The printer came with some instructions which weren’t brilliant, however, I googled the printer and found some fantastic instructions, and also, when I was setting up the disk in my laptop, it also takes you through the set up process step by step.

It was a breeze to get it on the wifi, just typed in our log in details and it was good to go. I downloaded the Epson app on my iphone, searched for printers, they ‘found’ each other and that was that, it tells me the status of the printer, the ink levels and I can even order new inks if I need to.

I can also print from my laptop from anywhere in the house after installing the software on the CD and I can even email it to print, although I haven’t tried that yet.

This is the sort of thing you can do with the Epson Creative Print app.

I then downloaded the Epson creative app and I was in heaven, I can create collages, posters, add text, borders and best of all, access my instagram account and print directly from there. Absolute bliss for an instagram addict like myself!

  2. I’m so guilty of taking photos and then doing nothing with them other than posting some on instagram. I used to love flicking through photos as a kid and I’d like my kids to be able to do the same. This is great!
