Bensons Totally Fruity review and giveaway (ended)

Bensons Totally Fruity juice. A review and giveaway.

Joosed Junior fruit juice giveaway.

You may have seen the Joosed junior bottles in your local Waitrose, it’s the drink that you get in the lunch bags if you’ve ever had them. One of your five a day and school lunch box approved, it makes them a very popular choice for us. They are real fruit juice mixed with spring water and that’s it! They are available to buy from Waitrose for £3.49 for four.

We’re firmly of the belief that everything in moderation, and so I’m quite happy for my children to drink juice sometimes as part of a balanced diet as long as they brush their teeth well. I also belief there is a big difference between sucrose and fructose, but that is a debate for another day! 🙂

We also got the chance to try out some of the other juices in the range. The apple and elderflower was gone before I could get near it, but deemed ‘delicious’ by the other members of my family! The apple and raspberry I did get to try and it was really lovely. Not too sweet, and with a nice subtle raspberry taste to compliment the cloudy apple.

Bensons is a local company, below is a little info about them.

Run by Jeremy and Alexia Benson, Bensons was born in the year 2002 after a visit to Jeremy’s fathers 400 year old fruit farm in Northumberland, where the couple had their first taste of juice freshly pressed from the orchard.  For both Jeremy, whose family has farmed for three generations, and Alexia, this proved to be a turning point, they made a few small batches and took it to market.  After selling out of juice before the final encore of the world famous ‘WOMAD’ music festival they realised that they were onto something.  For the next two years they developed their idea. The juice was sold at farmers’ markets and the brand ‘Bensons Totally Fruity’ was born, a high quality premium 100% juice.

In 2006, after a hot summer, Bensons ‘Chilly Billy’  Iced lollies, healthy and natural lollies made from 100% fruit juice and subsequently moved to the company’s current premises, a National Trust farm in the Sherborne, Glos.  Our Totally Fruity juices are made onsite on our farm which a small production team of 3 working 5 days a week.

Due to Bensons farming roots we believe it is important to do our bit to help support British orchards therefore we source only the best British apple juice for our products- all of which is Red Tractor accredited.

The company has gone on to make two new ranges Refresher, a refreshing water and juice coffee shop style flavoured water and the extremely popular JOOSED! junior, a healthier option, school compliant juice and water drink with a sports cap for children.

Alongside these products, Bensons provides own label bespoke juices to a select few organization’s and companies who appreciate the quality and craft of our products such as the TATE, Leon and Eden Project.

We also have the Drench juices available in a lot of the local shops and coffee shops so have long been a fan. In conclusion, the Joosed Juniors get a big thumbs up from us.
