Have you been to the Cotswold Baby and Toddler show? On Sunday 29th April the Town Hall in Cheltenham will be host to one of the biggest family friendly shows in the area. It absolutely exploded from the outset and last year’s show held at the Pittvile Pump rooms was a huge success. People were queuing to enter from before the doors opened at 10 until well after lunchtime. There was a steady stream of expecting couples and young families from start to finish.
This year there are timed tickets for entry to try and ensure there is less waiting time. It costs £2 per family, click here for tickets. There are also goody bags available for £1 donation going this year’s chosen charity, (see below) worth up to £30 with no flyers, I repeat, no flyers! Amazing!
If you are thinking of starting a family, or have young children already, this is the place to come for all your information on the things happening in the area for you. There are stands for just about everything you can think of, baby swimming, prenatal classes, postnatal exercise, health, well being, music, photography, clothing, wedding, weaning, carrying, first aid, you name it, it’s here, all giving out information and often balloons for the children as well! We all know how much they love balloons. 🙂
There is a local market where you can shop for the gorgeous items you usually only see on Etsy or instagram, think slogan sweaters for Mums, beautiful wooden toys, personalised jewellery the list goes on and on. I’m a huge fan of supporting independent traders and love having something that is often supporting another Mum (or a Dad!) in business, especially when they are local.
The fashion shows are always a hit, and then there are lots and lots of talks too, including one by me! Where I talk about how you can turn your blog from a hobby into something that makes money and gives you the best experiences. Over the almost 3 years I’ve been doing this, I have picked up an awful lot of tips and I’m always more then happy to share them, including growing your social channels and how to approach brands. Tickets cost £5 and are available to buy here.
There are also lots of taster sessions of the local groups on offer, music, language, arts and crafts and even paint it yourself pottery so something to keep your little ones busy as well. Every year the show supports a charity and this year it’s Gloucestershire charity The Pied Piper Appeal.
Founded in 1992, Pied Piper is the leading children’s charity in Gloucestershire. Our mission is to make a difference to the lives of sick and disabled children in the county. We do this by funding medical and practical equipment that enhances care and treatment for children in hospital and in the special schools in Gloucestershire.
We also send children with life limiting illnesses and their families on Wish Holidays, support the ever growing mental health care in Gloucestershire and fund £10,000 worth of nursing training for the pediatric nurses in the County to ensure that the children get the most up to date care possible.
I look forward to seeing you there!! If that’s not enough, there is also the Cotswold Blogger Awards in the evening held at Babel in Cheltenham, £15 a ticket with live music, your ticket even includes a cocktail created especially for the event and cake! A really good chance to grab some friends (or even your other half!) and wear something that makes you feel fancy and have a fab night out.
