VQ Retro MK II Emma Bridgewater Stereo Review and Giveaway.
Oooooh I got some happy mail recently! I was offered a VQ stereo to review and when I found one that not only came in beautiful Emma Bridgewater patterns but also had an iphone dock, I was over the moon!
The stereo has a gorgeous retro look but all the mod cons you would ever want. When I plugged it in, it immediately displayed the time and within seconds I was listening to wonderful, clear DAB radio stations, a surprise as my previous stereo was never able to find any in our kitchen! There are also DAB+ and FM station options and it’s got an alarm function too so perfect for bedrooms.
It comes with a mains cable but you can also buy a rechargable battery for £19.99 to make the radio portable, a great picnic or garden companion, we took it on our Father’s Day meadow picnic this weekend!
The other huge bonus is the bluetooth connection and the ipod docking station, I can listen to spotify whilst simultaneously charging my phone, for me, this is the biggest plus point as I seem to go through phone battery like you wouldn’t believe! It will even show what’s playing on the display which is a lovely touch.
You simply push on the little dock and it pops out and you can plug your phone in, or, if you want to take the radio out on the go and don’t want to waste battery charging your phone, you can simple connect through bluetooth, the pairing was very quick and easy.
The sound is beautifully clear and goes nice and loud, perfect for a boogie around the kitchen while I tidy up, I may be a 30 something Mum of two but I still like my tunes loud please! The design I chose is Wallflower by Emma Bridgewater and I’m in love with the bright watercolour-esque flowers scattered all over the leather look casing and over the carrying handle. There are 18 designs to choose from, including an array of plain colours and 6 different Emma Bridgewater patterns making deciding which one to go for tough.
The VQ Retro Mk II retails at £149.99 in the design featured here but the plain colours are slightly less at £129.00 but I have one to give away to one lucky reader, in a design of your choice! Scroll down to the bottom to enter. The stereo also comes in the iconic ‘pink hearts’ Emma Bridgewater pattern, which you can see here.
