We have been visiting the Cotswold Farm Park for years and have been consistently impressed with the way it has grown and expanded without losing any of it’s charm.
Last month they invited us down to experience their Maize Maze, an interactive pantomime style experience in a maze, with live action, much comedy and hilarity! It was really well thought out and organised and we really enjoyed every minute of it. The kids were in fits of giggles and absolutely loved running around trying to defeat Captain Hook. I really really hope they do it again next year!
While we were there, I was excited to spot the signs up for their upcoming events, currently they have on a ‘Dig your own Potato’ patch, which sounds very fun, and the one I’m most excited about is the ‘Pick your own Pumpkin’ event that is running next month. I always love things like that and it seems excellent value as you can buy your pumpkins for just £1 when you buy entrance tickets.
It was amazing to see how much the farm park has expanded in the short time since we visited to see Santa last Christmas, (read about it here, we loved it!), with the cafe size vastly increased and including a farm and gift shop, (all of which you can visit without buying a ticket), we also noticed a lovely cosy indoor seating area with a huge big log burner in that made me think of huddling round with hot chocolates on frosty days!
All the old favourites are there with animals a-plenty, the ever popular bouncy pillows, drive your own tractors and the sand pit and construction areas which were new to us on our last visit. They have replaced the maze by the soft play barn with an outdoor construction area and a pedal go-kart track which was a hit with my two.
There is definitely enough to do for a day out with the petting barns and tractor rides and multiple play areas. I also noticed that the entrance booth is now very well stocked with hats, gloves and various other necessary items you may have forgotten. It always seems to be colder at the farm park and so often a pair of gloves is needed when you didn’t think to bring them which is so handy. They also sell lovely clothes in the shop, handy if you forget spares and need some emergency leggings or a tee!
We’ve always enjoyed our visits to the farm park and the way it just seems to get bigger and better each time is wonderful. It’s not the cheapest day out for a family of 4 but there is so much to do there, we think it’s worth it.
This looks like a fun place! I love places like this, and luckily in England, you have cooler weather to enjoy being outdoors.
I chuckled when I read that you can dig your own potato, when I was a teenager, my very first job of all time was working on a potato farm!! So I have done my fair share of digging potatoes and working a harvester! But picking my own pumpkin? Now, that’s cool! I don’t think a person can outgrow pumpkin picking!
Also, your children are just the cutest little bugs!

What a great idea for a theme for a maize maze. We went to one this year based on the Lion King and it was great fun. Makes getting lost fun!! It’s great to hear how much this place is expanding. It sounds like you had a lovely viisit
This is an area i haven’t visited with the family yet but it’s on my list as i had a lovely break there with my Mum earlier this year. Looks like a brilliant day out x
Sounds like great day out, I love it when places diversify and add extra things to see and do, it just makes you want to come back time and again, because you know it will never get old and stale.
Love the idea of the pantomime style in the maize maze, I bet that added to the enjoyment. If we are ever visiting that way, I will definitely visit.

How fun! great pictures and happy faces. we love travelling and when the kids were tiny that planning is key, and being super organised. I find that research and planning in advance make holidays easier and smoother.
