I recently received an email asking me if I would like to take part in a campaign for shopDisney, offering to send me a big box of dressing up costumes for the kids in exchange for this blog post.
Are they too old for dressing up?
Would they be too old for dressing up costumes? This was my first thought, I mean at 7 and 8, almost 9, surely they are getting to the limit of wanting to dress up? I couldn’t have been more wrong. There was so much excitement when the box arrived, from them both. There was a Princess Jasmine Deluxe dress, a tiara and clip on earrings, Rajah the tiger and a gorgeous tea set. For my son, a full Woody dress up set, with hat and holster, an amazing Buzz Lightyear action figure and an adorable toy Hamm.
What is the shopDisney quality like?
What about the quality of the costumes? I was genuinely so impressed. I know everyone thinks that reviews for things a blogger hasn’t paid for themselves are biased but I am always honest and I thought the attention to detail and materials used were brilliant. The Buzz action figure is really solid and will definitely be hard wearing enough to cope with any knocks and bumps my son can throw at them. They both feel like such authentic costumes because every button, frill and stitch is there and it makes the kids look just like the beloved characters.
Are shopDisney dressing up costumes good presents for older children?
Do shopDisney fancy dress outfits make good presents for older children? It seems like every day there is a new invite for a party and then of course, Christmas is approaching and thinking about what to get children is forefront of our minds. Before I would probably have said that my children are maybe a little old for dressing up now and so I wouldn’t have suggested dress up as a gift if anyone asked, but watching my son soar Buzz around the house while pretending to Woody and seeing my daughter all dressed up on a recent trip to the circus and then again, happily making tea for everyone at home with her set, Rajah cuddled up by her side, I’ve completely changed my opinion.
