Last night I had the pleasure of spending a lovely evening at opening of The Ivy Cheltenham, as I mentioned in my review of Prithvi, I usually only go to places where you get crayons with the menu and so it’s a luxury to go somewhere so fancy pants!
There has been a lot of buzz and hype about The Ivy coming to Cheltenham, cited in the Montpellier area of town in an absolutely gorgeous building with an enormous rotunda which houses the circular bar, people have been desperate to get a peek inside while the amazing transformation was taking place.
I had the pleasure of two gorgeous lady’s company, the fabulous Emma from Emma and 3 and my gorgeous bestie Zaphira, who runs the Cotswold Baby and Toddler show and also the Cotswold Blogger Awards with myself and Emma. We also met Sophie Rollins and when we were chatting after I asked her what she had thought about her evening, these are her words; ‘What an incredible place. The staff were faultless, the atmosphere was great and the canopies were the best I have ever had! Random I know – but the entrance and toilets smelt AMAZING!!!!!’ She’s so right, the toilets were amazing and the scent of lillies was present throughout the bar!
I agree with Sophie that a huge part of a good experience is the staff and I couldn’t find fault with the lovely people that were looking after us last night either, total professionals but also friendly and approachable. Especially the really kind lady who was looking for some canapes for me when I told her I was vegetarian, hunting me down with some more of the yummy chicory and quinoa bites and the delicious desserts. Of which I have no photos because they were too yummy to stop and photograph!
It was so nice to have an evening out with friends, in a fancy frock and high heels, (which I wore all night despite the icy pavements!), drinking champagne! And a little note, I don’t drink because I get migraines but I got a bit swept up in the excitement of not wearing pyjamas on the sofa and had a few glasses of Ivy champagne and I feel absolutely fine this morning! Must be good stuff! 😉
Are you going to The Ivy Cheltenham soon? I’d love to know what you think of your experience!
