Photogem Jewellery Review.
It’s safe to say that whatever style I may have had pre-kids, (and it’s fairly debatable I had any!), I lost it all to Motherhood when stained pyjamas, baggy tops and messy hair were my ‘look’. Now that they are a bit older, I have started to care again about my appearance and actually now make a slight effort with what I wear. One thing that I always wished I was better at is accessorising. I recently went to a clothes party where they demonstrated that a simple necklace or bracelet can take an outfit from so-so to stunning. (I was sent the necklace free of charge for the purpose of the review.)
I’m not quite there yet though, I have recently added a watch to my everyday wear, but one thing I’ve always worn is a necklace. And I tend to wear the same one for months, or maybe years and then get given a new one, which I also then wear for years. My favourite type of jewellery now I have children are the personalised items that you can get, I already have a lovely fingerprint necklace but I was absolutely blown away when I spotted a stall selling charms which contain your photos in miniature. Photogem is also a small local business and I love to support local as well.
I just couldn’t believe that it was possible to shrink something down so small and yet keep the clarity. I have no idea how exactly she does it, but Anne-marie makes each beautiful piece by hand. The ordering was so easy, and I could choose between colour and black and white for the photos, I went for black and white, and it was even possible to crop out two people from a family picture, resulting in two lovely pictures of my husband with a child in each.
The necklace was so beautifully presented wrapped in tissue in a box tied with ribbon, and as well as the photo charm, there is also a small silver disc with each child’s initial on, (tucked away behind the gem), and I have had so many comments on it already. As well as more feminine silver necklaces and bracelets, there are also leather wrap bracelets and cufflinks and keyrings so something for all tastes.
As a Mum, I love being able to carry my family around with me at all times, but I think this is also lovely if you have lost someone special, especially if you would like to have them with you at an important event, such as a wedding. There are also examples on the website of people have their lovely canine companions immortalised.
