There’s a lovely new hair salon in Cheltenham, Hiley Hair Club is the dream of Elliot Hiley, somewhere that everyone can feel welcome. Friendly and warm, Elliot quickly put me at my ease as he discussed what I would like done, offering his expert opinion and talking about colours in a knowledgeable, reassuring way. (Scroll down to enter a competition to win a colour, cut and treatment!) AD – I did not pay for my appointment, but I was only asked for an instagram post, this blog post is because I was so impressed!

Recently he completed a colour course with Joico, the brand he stocks at the salon, and had some great ideas about making my trademark pink streak multi tonal and taking the pink under the back of my hair.

Before!
He quickly got to work and bleached out my roots in a 3 stage process to ensure even coverage for the colour, chatting easily all the time, but not in a fake, ‘going anywhere nice on holiday’ way that can be a bit of a stereotype but telling me about his vision for the salon. Wanting to create somewhere where no-one feels uncomfortable if they don’t fit a certain mold, where you can ask for any style or colour you can dream of and receive support and encouragement to get the hair of your dreams.

The salon itself is gorgeous with funky mirrors, a comfortable waiting area, cool artwork on the walls and retro jars of sweets with stripy pink and white paper bags stamped with the salon name on. It’s not intimidating though, and that is down to Elliot, I arrived early and there was an older lady in there having her hair cut and they were chatting away like old friends, clearly she felt very comfortable despite the modern trendy look of the salon.

Elliot expertly put 5 different shades of pink and purple though my hair (his colour dye wall is a thing of dreams!) and I’m so pleased with the result. He then cut it beautifully using different techniques, including a razor to put in layers to bring out my natural curl and to show off the pink underneath. I felt listened to through the whole process, had some really nice, genuine conversation with Elliot and was offered drinks and nibbles throughout, including Prosecco, which made it feel so fancy and made me feel very special.

Situated at 17 Prestbury Road, near to the Pittville Park gates, it’s well positioned for a short stroll into town after to show off your gorgeous new do and there are plans to offer styling services for those all important race ‘dos. As you might be able to tell, I highly recommend it here, but be quick to make an appointment, the phone didn’t stop ringing while I was there, Elliot is in serious demand, and he doesn’t just do bright colours, check out his instagram for more!

My photo face! 😀
Love it – can’t wait for my appointment with Elliot.
I live right by there and I love the sound of Elliot’s new salon! Some new colour would be lovely. I can tell he’s a genius from your photos!
Fingers crossed I’ve been lucky here
