Eco Friendly Wet Wipes
I am ashamed to say I was almost totally dependant on wet wipes for camping trips and festivals when the kids were smaller. I had no idea of the impact they have on the environment but now I have, I’ve tried to do without them. Reusable cloths are something we use a lot at home now but it’s not so convenient when you’re out and about. Luckily, Cheeky Panda have come up with a great solution, with their biodegradable handy wipes and also these antibacterial cleaning wipes, so important in these Covid times especially.

You never want to take too much when packing for camping but I always need a bag when I’m there for shopping trips or wet clothes, especially as the shops are mostly carrier bag free now (hurrah!) and so this lovely bright design from Kind is perfect as it can go in flat, make itself useful and then pack away again. Plus it is made of recycled plastic bottles so has a feel good factor too!
Fire lighting the eco friendly way
One of our favourite things to do is having a fire when we are camping. Check the rules of your campsite of course, but a lot of camping and glamping sites provide a fire pit for you to enjoy and we have been testing out these sustainable firelighters which are brilliant and work really well! We will be adding a few to our fire starting kit from now on!
Plastic Free Camping with a dog
Finally, we often take Hendrix with us and are always looking for ways to be more eco friendly with him. These Beco bowls are great to take as they are so lightweight and stack nicely. Best of all, they are made of bamboo, cornstarch and rice husks and will breakdown naturally once it’s reached the end of it’s life! And then an absolute essential for any trip with a pooch, the doggy waste bags. These ones are made entirely of cornstarch so biodegradable meaning you can be a responsible dog owner and pick up after your pet while being more environmentally more friendly as well!
